The Magic Flute

  • Inspired by the opera "The Magic Flute" composed by Mozart on a libretto by Emmanuel Schikaneder.

The scene depicts Pamina, the daughter of the Queen of the Night, who is freed with the help of the two musical instruments that were handed over to Prince Tamino and Papageno the bird catcher (the transverse flute and the glockenspiel). It rises gently from the ground towards freedom, bewitched and guided by the music that stands out from the score.

The opera being filled with symbols, I mainly focused on the three musical instruments: the transverse flute, the panpipes and the glockenspiel… it's up to you to discover them!

The notes surrounding Pamina are reproductions of Mozart's original manuscript.
